Description:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will have an expertise in lien release. Ideally you will be responsible for managing the full accounts receivable cycle, including billing, collections, and ensuring timely lien releases. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Process and manage invoices, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Handle collections activities, including sending reminders and contacting customers to resolve payment issues.
- Apply payments to customer accounts accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and process lien releases in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of lien release documents and related correspondence.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure lien release procedures are followed correctly.
- Communicate with customers and contractors to resolve any lien-related disputes.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Generate regular accounts receivable reports and provide analysis to management.
- Assist in month-end closing processes, including preparing necessary documentation.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly and professionally to all customer requests.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounts receivable operations.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to lien releases and accounts receivable management.

Job Details
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, with specific experience in lien release processes.
- Strong knowledge of lien laws and regulations, particularly in California.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the construction or real estate industry.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Certified Accounts Receivable Specialist (CARS) or similar certification.
