Job Description:
The Accounts Receivable Manager will be responsible for managing the AR process, leading a team, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions. This position will play a key role in credit assessments, collections, and process enhancements to optimize the department's efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash application, collections, and reconciliations.
- Manage and mentor a team of three AR professionals, fostering professional growth.
- Conduct credit evaluations for new clients and review credit terms for existing accounts.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer invoices and payments.
- Monitor collections efforts, implement strategies to reduce overdue accounts, and maintain customer relationships.
- Address billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide excellent customer service.
- Generate and analyze AR reports, such as aging analyses and KPIs, to identify trends and risks.
- Continuously review and enhance AR processes, incorporating automation where applicable.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and support.
- Stay current with accounting standards and best practices to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
- 4-5 years of accounts receivable experience, including 2+ years in a management role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (experience with P21 and Smartsheet is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of credit processes and partial billing (construction or manufacturing experience preferred).
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
