Patient, Practice, AR Team Support:
- Ability to meet tight deadlines for daily mail processing
- Multitask in a fast pace environment with a heavy volume of mail
- Provide support to the Accounts Receivable team and practices through effective communication and personal attention, using appropriate communication strategies, and taking the appropriate action to resolve questions and issues.
- Effectively communicate and develop a strong working relationship with the Doctors and all Team Members. Promote teamwork through cooperative and professional behaviors
Reoccurring Administrative Responsibilities
- Process incoming mail to include sorting, batching, and scanning of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements, insurance check payments, patient payments, and other miscellaneous mail
- Deposit check payments by scanning checks through bank secured website portal, reconcile bank deposits to the posted batch totals; file and organize deposit records including off-site storage as needed
- Record deposit and other accounts receivable data using an Excel spreadsheet or other database solutions as needed
- Receive, sort, scan, upload insurance pre-authorizations to patient record including occasionally routing via courier to the appropriate practice
- Identify and record mail forwarded from practice locations. Communicate with insurance and network contacts to update remittance address to resource location as appropriate
- Assist with coordination of statement and collection letter processing. This includes creation of files, download and upload of files to print services vendor, data validation, data tracking, and print/mail of statement and letter correspondence as needed
- Retrieve remittance information from bank and insurance websites
- Use bank deposit reports to create upload reports for practice management system to facilitate electronic posting process
- Balance patient accounts by allocating payments and adjustments in practice management system
- Update addresses in practice management system and collaborate with other team members as needed to process returned mail and NCOA reports
- Conduct office duties including but not limited to scanning, filing, appropriate disposal of documents containing Protected Health Information, supply orders, supply tracking, supply storage, and food and beverage orders
Education and Knowledge
- Minimum high school diploma, degree preferred
- Dental or medical experience preferred
- 2-4 years of accounts receivables or billing experience required
Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
