Accounts Receivable Clerk - Bedrosians Tile and Stone

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Debt Collector to join our team. The Debt Collector will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding debts owed to the company. This role requires excellent communication skills, a firm yet compassionate approach, and the ability to negotiate effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contact debtors via phone, email, and mail to collect outstanding debts.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements with debtors.
• Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions with debtors.
• Conduct thorough investigations to locate debtors and determine their ability to pay.
• Monitor and track accounts to identify overdue payments and take appropriate action.
• Follow up on payment arrangements and ensure timely payments.
• Comply with all state and federal regulations related to debt collection.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive relationships with debtors.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as legal and accounting, to resolve complex cases.
• Any other duties required of the position

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Debt Collector or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of relevant legal requirements and regulations.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to handle difficult conversations and remain calm under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with collection software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
