The primary focus of the Accounts Payable Associate is to Provide accounting services focusing on revenue, deposits, receivables, contributions, and pledge accounting, revenue collection, and general journal entry preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA .in Accounting or Finance is a plus
- Previous accounts receivable experience, desired
- Proven accuracy and speed in data entry
- Experience and understanding of vendor relations, accounts payable
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Proven ability to independently identify problems and implement successful solutions
- Proven focus on superior internal and external customer service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and knowledge including automated accounting, word processing and spreadsheets required
- Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural client/customer population
- Ability work in a non-judgmental manner and foster positive growth/outcomes
- Able to work as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries
- Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Process daily accounting activity including revenue, deposits, receivables, contributions, and pledge accounting.
- Coordinate billing, collections, and reconciliations, data, and reporting support to JFS programs
- As needed, recurring journal entries and other necessary functions.
- Provide support to Supervisor, Controller and team members in the monthly general ledger closing process.
- Work closely with program directors, managers and staff to ensure smooth and accurate accounting and financial operations.
- Assist in monthly financial variance reporting especially as a means to ensure completeness of accounting ledgers.
- Assist Supervisor and Controller with annual financial audit.
- Undertake special projects and other related duties as assigned.
