About the Job
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in Accounting or Business-related field or relevant five (5) years' work
- Bachelor's Degree
- Five (5) years' experience in accounting or
- Demonstrable knowledge of Governmental Accounting and
- Demonstrable knowledge of inventory/warehouse
- Proficient with CYMA or similar accounting software; must have basic understanding of Tyler Technology Infinite Vision
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work and to meet
- Must have or obtain First Aid/CPR certification and a Navajo Nation food handler's
- Bilingual (Dine/English)
- Must be able to meet minimum physical
- Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enforces and complies with SASI policies and procedures including academic adopted curriculum and strategies; includes guidelines related to COVID-19 and any unforeseen
- Integrates the school philosophy, vision, and mission statements into area of
- Prepares monthly close-outs to ensure consistency and accurate
- Prepares journal entries as needed to be posted to general ledger for accurate
- Prepares 1099 tax reporting at year
- Reconciles all purchases to ensure payments are processed in a timely
- Coordinates with Office Technician and Parts Runner/Receiving Technician for any
- Process payments based on invoices for goods and services.
- Uploads positive pay information for all issued checks with school's banking institution.
- Verifies all invoices and checks are posted to general
- Assist with payroll disbursement for internal control
- Maintain cash receipts to ensure proper documentation is
- Prepares physical inventory quarterly and
- Maintains and assists with capital assets and depreciation schedule annually for accurate
- Assist as necessary with audit reporting during annual
- Safeguards and secures all information with confidentiality.
- Responsible for attending all required trainings and related
- Responsible for professional growth through on-going program trainings, professional developments days, licenses, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher
- Performs other duties as assigned.
