POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be the key business connection between the Accounting Department and the six building division project managers. In addition to managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for the department, the A/P Supervisor will cultivate relationships with subcontractors and vendors, coordinate the handling and coding of all expenses, and collaborate cross-functionally to support ownership enterprises.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision:

• Lead a team of three by evaluating, mentoring, and developing them within the Accounting Department
• Provide guidance and best practices to keep the accounting team motivated and challenged

Accounts Payable:

• Develop and maintain systems and procedures that ensure accuracy and uphold the integrity of our figures as needed to comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Direct regular check runs by maximizing discounts and monitoring cash outflows
• Transact business tax payments along with becoming a sales tax expert
• Makes themselves available to answer questions and educate internal and external customers

Ad-hoc:

• Improve current software through research and suggest or implement new technology to advance the business
• Repeatedly analyze current processes to increase efficiencies and add value to every endeavor
• Respond to ownership and management inquiries quickly and accurately

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Knowledge Required: Viewpoint software a major plus

Microsoft Excel and Windows environment

Extreme attention to detail, excellent math aptitude, and good business judgement

Experience Required: Three - five years of experience as part of a high-volume accounts payable team

Construction background is highly advantageous but not required

Prior management of a team is preferred

Skills/Abilities: Strong communicator that works well with others

Very organized, analytical, problem-solving mindset
