- Directs the Accounts Payable (A/P) function by reviewing and approving daily AP batches in the Nav accounting system for weekly disbursements.
- Works with the Associate Director, Accounting, to ensure accounts payable invoices are accurate and ready for payment weekly via ACH/Check.
- Acts as the system administrator for COH's automated accounts payable system.
- Serves as the primary contact for vendor relations, including requests for credits, refunds, billing discrepancies, reconciliations, sales tax issues, and past-due notices.
- Works with the Accounts Payable and Accounting Specialists to review & update the Accounts Payable Manual quarterly.
- Reviews and posts daily bank statement transactions, including but not limited to: ACH, Remote, Health Services & Clinical deposits.
- Reviews and posts AP accruals, allocations, and any adjusting invoices/credit memos weekly as required.
- Supports the monthly bank reconciliation process by reviewing general ledger transactions weekly to confirm completeness and accuracy.
- Completes bank reconciliations for (14) for both COH & BRHP by 15th of each month (download the transactions, match line by line each transaction to the accounting system, research any discrepancies and recommend corrections to the team, finalize totals until both sides balance).
- Complies with and helps to enforce standard organizational policies and procedures, as described in the COH manuals located in the COH toolbox, including but not limited to the employee handbook, the Accounting Manual, and other COH policies and procedures.
- Handles sensitive information with care and discretion to ensure confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, related coursework, or equivalent demonstrated work experience required.
- Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- 3-5+ years of higher-level experience focused on general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, accounts payable & receivable is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other accounting software applications preferred, Microsoft Teams, Excel and Word required.
- Ability to be a team player, highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines while remaining calm under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees and clients, both written and verbal.
- This position is considered 80% remote and 20% onsite. This role requires one day a week onsite at our Conway Health and Resource Center in Washington, DC.

About Community of HOPE:
Community of Hope is a mission-driven, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit. For nearly 40 years, we have provided healthcare, housing, and supportive services for low-income, underserved, and homeless people in Washington DC. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also has a strong emphasis on maternal and child health, with a midwifery practice and the only free-standing birth center in DC. In 2020, Community of Hope provided about 28,400 medical visits, 7,000 dental visits, and 10,000 behavioral health visits for about 11,000 patients. Community of Hope is also providing community walk-in COVID testing and COVID vaccines. Community of Hope is also one of the largest providers in DC of housing and support services for families experiencing homelessness.
