Our client is a leading real estate development company in Southern California, specializing residential development.
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their accounting team. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department and ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor communications.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Review and approve invoices, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Process weekly check runs and electronic payments, including ACH and wire transfers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain vendor relationships and communicate effectively to resolve payment inquiries and negotiate payment terms.
- Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure timely receipt and processing of invoices.
- Develop and implement process improvements to streamline Accounts Payable workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Prepare month-end and year-end accruals and assist with financial reporting as needed.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to Accounts Payable.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
