Vaco is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Staff Accountant to join a finance team. This role will involve handling accounts payable functions while also assisting with general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payment discrepancies and address vendor inquiries.
- Maintain vendor records and update vendor information as needed.
- Assist with the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department.
- Provide support for audits and compliance requirements as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in accounts payable and/or general accounting roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software/systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cost accounting principles.
- Familiarity with manufacturing accounting processes and inventory management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
