Job Title: AP Staff Accountant
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid Flexibility)

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and completeness
- Match invoices to purchase orders and contracts, and obtain approvals for payment
- Enter invoices and payments into the accounting system, ensuring proper coding and allocation
- Prepare and process payments via check, wire transfer, or credit card
- Monitor accounts payable aging and follow up on overdue invoices
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Maintain and update vendor files and information
- Prepare monthly accruals and journal entries for accounts payable transactions
- Assist with month-end closing and reporting, providing supporting documentation for audits
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulations (GAAP, IRS, etc.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
- Knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience working with spreadsheets and formulas
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
