Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments. This role requires expertise in corporate accounts payable processes and a commitment to maintaining compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approvals.
- Manage the corporate accounts payable workflow, including coding invoices to appropriate accounts and cost centers.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers, ACH payments, and checks.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable aging reports to ensure timely payments.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, internal departments, and stakeholders to address inquiries and provide resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in corporate accounts payable processing (2+ years preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems and automated accounts payable tools.
- Knowledge of tax compliance related to vendor payments (e.g., 1099 processing).
