Client Overview:
Our client, is seeking a Accounts Payable Specialist responsible for managing their financial obligations by processing invoices, reconciling statements and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$24 – $27/hr
Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. The Accounts Payable Specialist identify and implement improvements to the accounts payable processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Invoice Processing: Review and verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and approval prior to payment. Enter invoices into the accounting system
- Payment Processing: Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies, respond to inquiries, and maintain positive relationships
- Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and correct discrepancies as needed
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of accounts payable reports and other financial documentation as required
- Audit Support: Provide support during audits by supplying necessary documentation and explanations
Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
