Role: Temporary to Permanent Accounts Payable Specialist
Pay Rate: $25-27/hr - ($60,000 - $65,000/annually if converted permanently)
Location: Syosset, New York - Hybrid - 2/3 days a week in office
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for entering and processing invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all AP functions. This is a hybrid role based in Woodbury/Syosset, NY, with the possibility of remote work for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and process 500-700 invoices per month in a timely and accurate manner.
- Audit incoming invoices against receiving reports to ensure proper documentation and accuracy.
- Ensure invoices are processed and paid according to company policies.
- Resolve discrepancies related to invoices and receiving reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to clarify invoice details when necessary.
- Maintain organized records of invoices and payment transactions.
- Perform routine reconciliations of accounts payable ledgers.
- Assist with month-end closing processes and reporting as needed.
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and invoice processing.
- Ability to handle a high volume of invoices (500-700/month).
- Experience with receiving reports (no purchase orders involved).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and resolve issues promptly.
- QuickBooks experience (strongly preferred)
