Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
The ideal candidate will have experience in full-cycle accounts payable processing, including invoice management, payment approvals, and maintaining accurate records. Key responsibilities include:
- The accounts payable specialist is responsible for evaluating and processing invoices, check requests, credit card charges, and related documentation for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Managing manual check requests and performing weekly check runs.
- Responding to vendor inquiries and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Reconciling open payables and vendor statements, including researching and correcting discrepancies.
- Updating and maintaining the vendor database.
- Preparing and issuing vendor 1099 forms.
- The accounts payable specialist is responsible for billing customers and handling related documentation.
- Assisting with additional responsibilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- AAS/BS degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting.
- Intermediate MS Excel skills, including v-lookups and pivot tables, are a plus.
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable procedures and general ledger chart of accounts.
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
