Position: Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: South Seattle, WA
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM (30-minute or 1-hour lunch)
Pay Range: $28 to $30/hr (DOE)

Position Overview:
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices while maintaining professional relationships with vendors and internal teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times and embody the Companys Core Values, adhering to all policies in the Company Policy Handbook.
- Contribute to the efforts of the Accounts Payable Department in a professional manner.
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, ensuring 3-way matching and necessary approvals prior to payment.
- Ensure all invoices are paid on time and within terms.
- Prioritize invoices and workload based on cash discount potential and payment terms.
- Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and internal requests.
- Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with vendors, branch personnel, and administrative departments to resolve receiving issues, vendor returns, and other discrepancies.
- Accurately process check runs, ensuring support documentation matches checks presented for signature.
- Maintain organized Accounts Payable files and documentation thoroughly and accurately.
- Serve as a rotating fill-in for the receptionist during breaks, lunch hours, and days off, sharing this responsibility with the Accounts Payable Department.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Minimum of two years of experience in an accounts payable role; high-volume AP experience preferred.
- Familiarity with purchase orders and 3-way matching processes.
- Experience with P21 accounts payable/general ledger system or similar software is desired.
- Basic Excel skills required; intermediate Excel skills preferred.
- Proficient in MS Outlook.
- Experience in the wholesale industry is a plus.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations and ensure work accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Effective organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to understand and follow established procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive in identifying issues and presenting options for solutions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's Degree or related certification preferred.
- Must operate in a drug-free workplace.
