Our client is a well-established leader in the construction industry, known for delivering high-quality projects. We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a temporary basis and help ensure the smooth processing of vendor invoices, payments, and financial records.
Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, contractors, and suppliers. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Sage software to manage financial transactions effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports in Sage software.
- Ensure accurate coding of invoices and matching them to purchase orders and receipts.
- Review and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices or payments.
- Monitor accounts payable aging reports and ensure timely payments to vendors and contractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, internal teams, and external vendors to resolve payment-related issues.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Handle vendor inquiries and disputes in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Sage software (Sage 100, Sage 300, or Sage Intacct preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and construction industry billing practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
