We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. This position that offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in our construction company's financial operations. The successful candidate will not only handle the company's accounts payable but will also be involved in various accounting tasks related to our construction projects. Responsibilities
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will:
1. Handle daily accounts payable functions including receiving, processing, verifying, reconciling, and paying invoices in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
2. Maintain vendor relationships, respond to inquiries, and resolve any discrepancies in invoice payments.
3. Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
4. Assist in month-end closing procedures and maintain a thorough record of all expenses.
5. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
6. Collaborate closely with the project management team to track project costs and ensure accurate job costing.
7. Participate in the development and implementation of systems and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable process.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role within the construction industry.
2. A thorough understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
3. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
4. Excellent organization skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
5. Strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
6. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with vendors, team members, and management.
7. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
8. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
