POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST
FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Associate degree in accounting or training in bookkeeping/accounting required
- Two years' experience in Accounts Payable.
- Computer literate.
- Experience in data handling, report generation, and statistics required.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently meeting deadlines and handle significant pressure.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Analyze accounts payable assuring a match between billing statements and evidence of actual receipt of items and/or services.
- Review all claims assuring that every effort is made to take advantage of discounts and pay claims on time to avoid penalties.
- Enter all invoices into the computerized A/P system and monitor A/P aging.
- Prepare check run weekly for all open invoices and provide supporting documentation to the designated party.
- Calculate travel reimbursements for all employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
