About the Job
Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking an AP Specialist for a growing construction client located in Raleigh. The AP Specialist will play a crucial role in managing vendor relationships and maintaining financial records. This is a fast-paced, high transaction position that is highly visible to both internal and external customers. This is a full time, permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Verify all invoices received are accurate, including proper pricing and backup documentation.
- Code invoices to proper general ledger, job, and cost code accounts
- Reconcile vendor statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform light administrative duties, including daily mail opening and distribution.
- Prepare weekly and monthly accounts payable checks
- Maintains all accounts payable files
- Send out Notices of Payments to Subcontractors as needed
- Communicates cash requirements to the Controller
- Answer all vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist in monthly closings as needed
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in accounting with 2+ years of experience OR 5+ years of experience in an accounts payable role.
- Experience in construction, job-costing, and progress billing
- Experience with progress billings and AIA Payment Applications
- Working knowledge of Certificates of Insurance and Lien Waivers
- Working knowledge of Notice of Subcontracts and Notices of Payments
- Organized and professional attitude
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
