About the Job

Vaco is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist in Oakland Park, FL. It's direct-hire, 100% onsite, looking for 3+ years of accounting experience and advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs).

Purpose

Performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, coding invoices and verifying transactions. Performs A/P functions to ensure supplier invoices are complete and accurate, process for payment in a timely and efficient manner. Responsible for all employee expense report reconciliation and processing.

Deliverables & Responsibilities

Supporting the accounting department and supervisory staff
Review invoices, billing statements and other documents for accuracy (freight billing exp. helpful)
Processing invoices, payments and backups
Verify and reconcile expense reports and process in online banking system
Communicate effectively with staff members and vendors on billing and expense related questions
Assist in month/year end procedures in an effective and timely manner
Assist processing weekly check/EFT runs; prepare checks for review, approval and signature
Administration of travel, expense and other related reporting
Filing, general office duties
Other duties according to business needs

Qualifications (Education, Experience & Skills)

3+ years of working in the accounting field
High School Diploma or equivalent required, Undergraduate degree or 2 year certificate in Accounting (preferred)

Proficient computer skills including general business software (i.e. MS Office, etc.), advanced Excel skills
Intermediate to Advanced Math and Reading Comprehension skills
Able to effectively work individually and as a team
Able to take initiative and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to changes and assume new responsibilities
High level of Integrity, and Professionalism
Effective communication skills (verbal & written)
