About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a dynamic team in the manufacturing apparel industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the unique financial needs and challenges within the apparel manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including the coding, entering, and reconciling of invoices
- Match purchase orders with invoices and ensure accuracy in pricing, quantities, and terms
- Prepare and execute payments via checks, ACH, or wire transfers in a timely manner
- Handle vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies related to invoices or payments
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including the reconciliation of AP sub-ledger to the general ledger
- Maintain and organize financial documents and records for audit purposes
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as procurement and inventory, to ensure proper documentation and approval of expenses
- Monitor and report on key metrics related to accounts payable, such as aging reports and cash flow projections
- Support the finance team with special projects and process improvements as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, with a focus on manufacturing and/or apparel industry
- Strong understanding of the manufacturing process and its impact on accounts payable
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with [insert specific software] is a plus)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and colleagues
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
