About the Job
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of accounts payable processes who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage a high volume of accounts payable transactions, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices
- Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and contracts for accuracy and compliance
- Prepare weekly check runs, ACH transfers, and credit card payments
- Reconcile accounts payable statements and resolve discrepancies with vendors and suppliers
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable
- Maintain accurate vendor records and communication regarding payment inquiries
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Provide support during audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, accounting principles, and general ledger
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
