Accounts Payable Specialist - Virtual Company

About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
- Ensure vendor maintenance is kept up to date
- Respond to all vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies
- Assist in month-end closing
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Provide audit support for G/L accounts
- Preparing accurate and timely accounting transactions and reports
- Determine that all disbursements have proper authorization, receiving and documentation
- Maintain current aging of accounts payable
- Maintain, record, and document transactions for personnel and payroll systems
- Maintain all personnel and payroll reports and records in an organized and confidential manner
- Meet all reporting requirements and deadlines
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Analytical: must possess strong problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented: Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize work independently
- Communication skills: must be able to communicate effectively with all layers of senior management and employee base, from top to bottom
- Accuracy: must maintain highest work quality standards
- Communication skills: must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Excel: Must have used extensively and be able to efficiently utilize all capabilities of Excel
