We are looking for an accounts payable specialist on a contract to hire basis.
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing the company's accounts payable transactions in an accurate and timely manner. This role involves handling invoice approvals, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review, verify, and process invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and proper approval.
* Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to confirm accuracy.
* Enter and maintain records of vendor invoices and payments in the accounting system.
* Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
* Prepare and process electronic transfers, check runs, and ACH payments.
* Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and resolve issues professionally.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
* Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and account reconciliations.
* Maintain vendor files and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
* Collaborate with other departments to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
* Journal entries
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
* 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and internal team interactions.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
