Accounts Payable or Accounting Assistant II at Amtec Human Capital

Working hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with 1 hour lunch); Overtime: As needed

Duration: Start date: July 15, 2024; Projected until November 30, 2024

Position Description:

Under supervision, to perform a variety of accounting duties related to the maintenance  and review of fiscal, financial and statistical records. Accounting Assistants are assigned a variety of duties and responsibilities in the receipt and processing of accounting data including recording, classifying, reviewing and summarizing data for use at a higher level. Assignments may include responsibility for some general office support duties, but the primary focus of the position must be on the financial/accounting duties.

Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Accounts payable processing
• Reconciling all department Cal and Travel cards
• Petty cash reconciliation
• Surprise cash audits
• Review and processing of mileage claim forms.

In addition to these duties, this position is responsible for all specialized election related accounting activities. 

These activities include but are not limited to:

• Election estimates

• Election billing

• Statement reconciliation

• Refund and invoice processing as well as performing other office duties as needed/assigned. 

• Programs Used: Accounting and Payroll Systems (CAPS+, Expediter, OCTIME), Microsoft Office (mainly Excel).

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of financial/accounting experience 

• Strong experience with accounting and payroll systems (CAPS+, Expediter, OCTIME preferred)

• Able to perform general office support duties

• MS Office (MS Excel) proficiency
