Accounts Payable Clerk Job Description:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing and managing company expenses by ensuring that invoices are accurately recorded and paid in a timely manner. Key duties include reviewing and verifying invoices, reconciling discrepancies, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role involves communication with vendors to resolve issues and ensure smooth payment operations. Attention to detail, organization, and knowledge of accounting software are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy.
- Process invoices for payment and prepare payment runs.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and files.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and handle payment-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in accounts payable or accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
