This dynamic role is for a team player who thrives on structure and can manage deadlines with minimal supervision. The family office is a 20-person strong team of dedicated professionals who go above and beyond on a daily basis, and we are looking for our next superstar.
AP Responsibilities: As the Accounts Payable Manager, the candidate will oversee all bill pay for multiple entities, mainly wires via our banking platforms or ACH (checks are very limited) via bill.com software. Knowledge of bill.com, prior AP experience, and an understanding of how each bill payment transaction affects the GL is imperative.
- Receive, process, verify, and reconcile invoices
- Verify vendor accounts, pay vendors, and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies on a weekly basis
- Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger, perform recordkeeping
- Keep informed of best practices in accounting, including updating our written policy and procedures surrounding AP
- Verify wire transfer information and enter wire transfers in banking systems.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities: As our Staff Accountant, this role works with the Controller and various Directors on multiple entities to close the monthly books, handle accounting duties and work on projects delegated by the CFO. Knowledge of debits and credits and prior bookkeeping/audit experience is required.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for 60+ bank accounts by the 7th BD each month
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
- Annual audits for our not-for-profit entities
- Ad hoc requests/file reorganization/family servicing
Requirements:
- Knowledge of bill.com as a software provider for bill pay
- College degree in business or finance or accounting, with knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures
- Prior experience with bank reconciliations and/or AP duties
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to manage time to deliverable dates
- Great organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to analyze information and processes, and to find process improvements/enhancements
- Usage/knowledge of Sage INTAACT a plus
- Ability to multi-task and take ownership of your roles. We leave our ego at the door to work for the greater good of the family
- Years of experience open; salary + bonus commensurate with experience
