We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounts Payable Manager to join our team in the medical industry. This is a permanent position that offers an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about driving process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing, 3-way match, payment processing, and reconciliation activities.
- Ensure all invoices are accurately processed and paid in a timely manner, adhering to department policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable function.
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring all accounts payable transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Liaise with other departments and external vendors to resolve any invoice discrepancies or payment issues.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the accounts payable team members.
- Prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable activities and metrics to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Participate in the implementation of new accounting systems and tools, as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Manager role, preferably in the medical industry.
- Proficient in accounts payable software, including Workday and Sage Intact.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including 3-way match and invoicing.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of accounting regulations and standards in the medical industry would be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
