Accounting Manager - Accounts Payable Analysis

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to lead our procurement and vendor management accounting functions. As the Manager of Accounts Payable Analysis, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with the procurement and vendor management teams to ensure all procurement activities are accurately recorded and analyzed for compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate effectively with Procurement, Accounts Payable Processing, and Vendor Management teams to identify root causes and resolve issues. Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in the period close process, prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, and provide commentary where needed.
• Review and approve journal entries, conduct account analysis, and run period close exception reports.
• Review periodic account reconciliations and monitor items categorized as class Rs.
• Supervise and mentor the Accounts Payable accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and accuracy.
• Identify and address financial risks related to the accounts payable function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
• 3.5+ years of experience in general accounting with a focus on Accounts Payable activities or accounts payable with responsibility for analytical activities along with invoice processing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and vendor management.
• Experience in the retail or automotive industry is a plus.
• Experience using Oracle or a similar ERP system.
