PEG is partnering with our growing client in the greater St. Louis are to find a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing high-volume invoice processing and a proven track record of streamlining accounts payable operations. Looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical in ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor payments while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoice Processing Management: Oversee the daily processing of a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, resolve payment discrepancies, and handle inquiries efficiently.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to optimize accounts payable processes, including automation and workflow improvements.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze accounts payable metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Collaboration: Partner with procurement, accounting, and other departments to resolve issues and ensure seamless operations.
- System Utilization: Manage accounts payable systems, ensuring they support high-volume processing effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Preference is for someone who has led a team but open to strong accounts payable candidates who haven't led with leadership abilities.
- Proven expertise in managing high-volume invoice processing in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in accounts payable systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with automation tools or workflows is a plus.
