Job Summary: Our company is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Accounts Payable Coordinator. The successful candidate will manage accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely financial transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process daily cash and credit card deposits.
- Review and post receipts and payments to appropriate ledgers, spreadsheets, records, and databases.
- Prepare, sort, copy, file, and mail invoices, receipts, checks, and correspondence.
- Audit invoices against purchase orders and research discrepancies; calculate required tax withholdings.
- Prepare accounts payable checks.
- Investigate payment issues vendors or Global Sourcing Specialists encounter with bills.
- Research and process chargebacks, returns, refunds, freight charges, cost of lost or damaged goods, and bad checks.
- Respond to accounts payable and receivable inquiries.
- Audit freight bills against freight manifests.
- Analyze vendor accounts and negotiate extended terms with vendors as necessary.
- Prepare analysis and summaries of accounts.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivables to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Reconcile unvouchered payment accounts.
- Support audit requests.
- Assist in monthly and annual closings.
- Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air may be required.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school; or
- At least one year of related experience and/or training; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems involving several concrete variables.
- Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, word processing, and email applications.
