The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for a range of general staff accounting tasks, primarily, responsible for all accounting work that is associated with processing accounts payable, as well as submitting sales/use tax and reporting expenses. This position ensures the timely and accurate payment of invoices. The Accounts Payable Specialist works with various people at all levels of Cydcor, especially with those on the managerial level who authorize payments. Also working with vendors, they serve as the first point of contact for these companies should there be any question about invoices or reception of payments.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process, including processing invoices for payment, recording sales tax, assisting with bank reconciliations, and documenting loans.
- Research information to provide accurate and timely solutions to internal clients and vendors at multiple locations.
- Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are used.
- Generate payment to vendors on a routine schedule and match the check with backup for review by the financial manager.
- Inspect paid and unpaid invoices including cleared payment inquiries and check voiding to maintain accurate files and records according to company standards.
- Review automatic payments to ensure correct coding and authorization as well as sufficient contracts and documentation.
- Develop and maintain a filing system for financial information, records and documents to ensure easily available information.
- Monitor account balances, track expenses, prepare analyses of accounts and related financial activity to produce monthly financial reports.
- Other duties as assigned based on departmental needs.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
- Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar discipline required
- Minimum of 3 or more years of AR/AP and general ledger experience
- General business accounting and travel, expense and invoice management software experience.
- Individual will have high energy, be a self-starter and must be able to take the initiative with minimal guidance. Must be comfortable working both as an individual contributor and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work with all levels of an organization
- Robust system skills including Microsoft Suite and ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze general accounting information and concepts
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Concur or Great Plains experience highly desirable.
- Information management skills
- Three years of general accounting experience

Working Conditions:
- The position is hybrid. Candidates must be able to drive into the office 3 days a week. 2 days of the week are remote.
