About the Job
The Accounts Payable Associate will work closely with the Accounts Payable Manager and the rest of the accounting team on all aspects of accounts payable for RCR and other California divisions as needed. This is a key role on the accounting team with very dynamic demands and responsibilities that will change over time as RCR progresses numerous projects from the pre-development stage to construction and eventually to the turnover to operations and/or sales of assets to third parties.
The Accounts Payable Associate ensures that all construction and pre-construction expenses, invoices and payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with “RCR” policies and procedures. Ideal candidate will work closely with the Controller and as well as Construction, Design, Development, Finance, Tax, Legal and any third-party vendors in the performance and execution of all aspects of accounts payable for RCR including but not limited to the following:
- Code and enter invoices with related allocations (when applicable) and ensuring an accurate accounts payable approval workflow.
- Verify approval on all invoices and check requests.
- Maintain vendor records, including obtaining W-9s from new vendors and updating records with tax status and tax ID to ensure accurate and timely 1099 filings.
- Monitor the Accounts Payable inbox daily to ensure that all invoices and credit memos as well as other vendor communication are properly addressed.
- Resolve discrepancies and follow up with vendors in a timely manner with any concerns.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly project capital calls.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests as requested by Controller or CFO.
- Support other California divisions as requested by management.
Compensation
- $26.44 - $31.25 / hour
- Annual performance based bonus
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounts payable experience.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards accounting software and Ariba a plus.
- Highly intelligent with excellent analytical multitasking skills.
- Excellent Excel skills.
