Consulting Services Group (CSG) seeks an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our corporate team in Herndon, VA. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments and maintaining financial records. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Record and process employee expense accounts. Check for accuracy and receipts.
- Maintain vendor files and resolve any discrepancies or inquiries. by coordinating with employees, suppliers, customers, and other organizations
- Assist with month-end closing, reconciling credit card and bank accounts.
Accounts Receivable:
- Generate and distribute customer invoices, ensuring timely billing.
- Monitor and manage customer payments, including following up on overdue accounts.
- Process cash receipts and maintain accurate records of payments.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly ageing reports and other financial reports as needed.
General Duties:
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve payment and invoicing issues.
- Support Accounting Manager as necessary
- Continuously improve processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with data calls, FISMA reporting, compliance scanning and reporting, continuous monitoring, and compiling reports for auditors, and mail distribution.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess current and active Secret Security Clearance.
- 2+ years’ experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.) and MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
- Keen attention to detail
- Proficient in time management, capable of meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks
- Excellent customer service skills
Education: High School degree
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.

Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives.
Job location: Onsite at CSG company office in Herndon, VA, remote telework is not available.
