Accounts Payable Accountant - Creative Financial Staffing

About the Company and the Accounts Payable Accountant Opportunity:

• CFS is partnering with a non profit organization to hire an Accounts Payable Accountant on a contract/contract to hire basis to cover for a maternity leave
  • This role is expected to last at least 4 months but will become long term for the right candidate due to growth within the company
• Schedule: The Accounts Payable Accountant will work Monday-Friday typically 9am-5:30pm (flexible). This role is hybrid in Hanover, MD (in office Tuesday and Thursday, work from home Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

• Reports to the Accounting Manager and VP of Accounting
• Salary $60,000 - $65,000 depending on experience
• Ideal start: Mid January 2025

Job Duties of the Accounts Payable Accountant:

• Process 30-40 complex AP invoices weekly and initiate wires
• Perform reconciliations in Excel
• Create and assist with journal entries
• Assist with month end close
• Provide assistance with audits

Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Accountant:

• 2+ years' full cycle accounting experience required
  • Familiarity with financial statements, month end, AP, and reconciliations
• Experience working for a small non profit organization a plus
• Experience using Sage Intacct and/or Bill.com a plus
• Basic Excel skills required
  • Knowledge of pivot tables a plus, but not required
  • Able to do reconciliations in Excel a plus
• Enjoys working with a team, collaborative, and mission oriented. Comfortable working with project managers
