Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Participate in regular tax audits and payroll
- Prepare budgeting reports and forecast revenues
- Manage month-end and year-end closing
- Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department
- Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records
- Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives
- Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with the company’s targets
- Ensure compliance with the law
- Manage and mentor junior members of the accounting team
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Accounting Supervisor or similar role in the Finance industry with a minimum of 5 years of experience
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software - Sage 50 knowledge is a must
- Experience with construction accounting is a strong advantage
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
- Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
- Proven expertise in creating detailed reports and forecasts, managing cash flow, and conducting budgeting and forecasting
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
