Accounting Supervisor Position Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the company’s financial processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position manages the monthly close processes, revenue compliance, joint interest billing, and financial reporting, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial forecasting and reporting. Upstream oil and gas industry experience is essential to ensure effective management of sector-specific financial requirements.

Accounting Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Oversight of Monthly Close Processes:
• Supervise monthly close activities, including accruals and revenue reporting.
• Review and approve recurring and adjusting general ledger entries to ensure accuracy.
• Revenue and Royalty Management:
• Manage revenue and royalty receipts, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Oversee revenue-related processes to ensure adherence to financial regulations.
• Joint Interest Billing and Payment Accuracy:
• Process and monitor joint interest billings to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Financial Analysis and Reporting:
• Prepare and/or review standalone financial statements for equity method investments in compliance with US GAAP.
• Conduct related analysis and create detailed financial reports.
• Reconciliations and Issue Resolution:
• Review and oversee monthly reconciliations, ensuring all identified discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
• Budgeting and Forecasting Coordination:
• Collaborate with commercial and marketing teams to ensure accurate forecasting.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets and forecasts for presentation to joint venture partners.
• Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
• Prepare materials for joint venture partners, ensuring clear and accurate financial data presentation.
• Ensure all transactions and results are recorded, reported, and communicated effectively.

Accounting Supervisor Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in accounting, including supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
