Accounting Supervisor - Direct Hire
Location: Emeryville (Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days remote)
Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (or 9:00 am - 5:30/6:00 pm), with flexible lunch options (30 minutes or 1 hour)
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000/year
Are you an experienced Accounting Supervisor with law firm experience looking for a new opportunity in a dynamic, growing firm? We are seeking a junior supervisor with strong leadership skills to oversee a small, high-performing accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team consisting of a Senior Accountant, Bookkeeper, and Accounting Specialist, while working closely with the Managing Partner.
- Review and improve current accounting processes to accommodate the firm's rapid growth.
- Oversee the firm's transition off QuickBooks to a new accounting software (platform TBD).
- Manage month-end close and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Play a hands-on role in managing accounting for class action cases and other legal matters handled by the firm.
Must-Have Skills:
- Law Firm Experience: This is non-negotiable. Familiarity with the unique demands of law firm accounting, especially managing class action cases, is essential.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Expertise in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
- Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years in an accounting supervisory role, preferably leading a larger team.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to handle conflicts and manage demands from the Managing Partner with speed and accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Experience in implementing streamlined accounting processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy as the firm continues to grow.

- Ability to pass a background and credit check.
- A strategic, detail-oriented approach to managing the day-to-day accounting operations while looking for opportunities to improve workflows.
