Accounting Supervisor - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

Skills/Qualities

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience in applying them to various financial transactions and reporting requirements.
• Several years of progressive experience in accounting roles, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and proficiency.
• Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal, to interact with colleagues, management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Support and supervise a small accounting team.
• Proficiency in using Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting purposes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Lead or assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and preparing financial reports for management review.
• Oversee or assist in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, monitoring aging reports, and managing collections or vendor payments as needed.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and proper classification of expenses.
• Collaborate with other departments such as operations, and management to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and achieve organizational goals.
