**Job Title: Accounting Supervisor**
**Job Summary:**
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records through account balance and bank statement reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close procedures. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, with proven experience in collaborative teamwork. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. The Accounting Supervisor will assist the CFO in various accounting functions, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the majority of the following tasks:
- Assist the CFO with workflow process improvements and special projects.
- Oversee daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Address inquiries from the CFO regarding various accounting and financial functions.
- Monitor and analyze the financial department to develop more efficient procedures and optimize resource use while maintaining accuracy.
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Compile and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts using electronic data and required documentation.
- Prepare and summarize financial status reports, including profit and loss statements.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Play a key role in the company's financial management, including account reconciliations and reporting.
- Coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with the accounting and finance team or other departments.
- Maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare financial statements and budgets according to schedule.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Participate in financial standards setting and forecasting processes.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Anticipate risks and opportunities, promoting continuous improvement.
- Monitor daily performance of the accounting department.
- Ensure the accounting team meets all financial reporting deadlines.
- Handle personnel issues related to absenteeism, performance, and conflict.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 4+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Previous manufacturing or experience working with inventory highly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle complex issues.
- Ability to meet continuous deadlines.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong experience with accounting software and programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
