Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Assist with the preparation of financial analysis reports.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the workflow of the department.
- Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data.
- Produce financial reports or statements.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits.
- Meet financial accounting objectives.
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
- Train and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
- 5+ years' experience in accounting or related field.
- Proficient in accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Good problem-solving and time management skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas).
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
