Responsibilities:The Accounts Payable Supervisor position oversees the daily activities of the Accounts Payable department, provides technical expertise, and manages critical interfaces with internal stakeholders (IT, Operations, Land, etc.).  The role ensures compliance with applicable policies and GAAP, monitors AP month-end close, assists with due diligence,  and interfaces with external auditors.Special focus to be placed on: Introduces, recommends and/or implements new or revised process/system improvementsReviews, analyzes, develops and implements the accounting processes and procedures used by the accounting supervisors and accountantsEnsures compliance with corporate policies, processes and procedures, and that internal controls are effective and efficient Coordinates, updates and maintains control documentation and testingServes as point person for semi-annual internal control testing and year-end auditDevelops and manages key performance indicatorsSupervises daily operation of accounts payablePlans and delegates duties to meet monthly closing deadlinesEnsures the timely and accurate month-end closingProvides quarterly and yearly audit schedules and analysisResearches and identifies corrective actions if necessary; resolves significant issues as they relate to assigned areaAccountable for performance of team; engages team members in talent management and development opportunities, and builds a positive and respectful work environment.Participates in personnel decisions on hiring, firing, discipline, transfer, advancement and promotion in accordance with Company policies and procedures.Remains current with developments in the industry, and in the various areas of Company operationsAny other job-related duty as deemed appropriate by management.Qualifications:Associate's degree in related field; Bachelor's degree preferredA minimum of 2 years of relevant experienceAbility to identify and implement best practices in accounting environment with an understanding of industry trends and latest technologyStrong communication, facilitation, interpersonal and leadership skills with a proven ability to lead, influence and motivate othersStrong collaborative skills, positive attitude, high energy, results orientedAble to work cross-functionally, listen to the needs of other organizations, research and comprehend complex issues
