Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining positive vendor relationships and ensuring the financial stability of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Match purchase orders with invoices to verify accuracy of billing information.
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Enter and code invoices into the accounting system accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and perform check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end closing processes as needed.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable function.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
