About the Job
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the organization in areas including accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial accounting.

Duties:
- Responsible for receiving, processing, and recording accounts payable invoices.
- Ensure invoices are charged to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers; and accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Process, track, and match purchase orders to invoices.
- Manage timely invoice payment and provide weekly cash requirements report to CFO for approval.
- Provide accurate and effective document preparation, records management, and retention relative to the A/P function.
- Responsible for vendor set up and maintenance, including annual 1099 reporting.
- Effectively communicate with vendors and applicable staff to resolve outstanding invoice issues and answer questions related to accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely bank deposits, including but not limited to, processing E-Deposit transactions and data entry into accounting system.
- Prepare monthly invoices for contract services and monitor open contract receivables.
- Special projects, as assigned by Director of Billing and Patient Services, to support Billing Department.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with emphasis in accounting, preferred.
- One to two years accounting experience, preferred.
- High school diploma or GED with five years of relevant experience may be considered as substitute for degree.
