Accounting Specialist
Contract 2-3 months
Onsite, 5 days for training, then hybrid 3 days onsite.
Hourly rate: $25-30/hr
Must have:
Associates degree, preferably Bachelors
Excel
at least 1 years experience with both AP and AR
at least 1 year, the more recent the better, working in MFG industry
The Accounting Specialist is integral to our finance team, providing essential support for financial, administrative, and clerical functions within the organization. This role is crucial for managing customer collections, processing vendor payments, handling expense processes, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support:
Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
Maintain and update vendor master data to ensure accurate records.
Vendor Invoice Management:
Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices, process payments on a routine schedule, and ensure alignment with contracts and documentation.
Vendor & Internal Inquiries:
Address inquiries from vendors and internal managers regarding AP processes, ensuring efficient and effective billing procedures.
Customer Invoicing & Collections:
Generate, review, and issue invoices to customers.
Manage customer collections and prepare AR reports, including aging reports, cash flow projections, and other financial analyses as needed.
Credit Approval Assistance:
Assist with the credit approval process for new customers, including running and reviewing credit reports.
Account Reconciliation:
Reconcile AR/AP sub-ledgers with the general ledger, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Process intercompany AR/AP reconciliations.
Expense Management:
Maintain and update the Concur/AMEX system with accurate cost center information.
Review expense reports, record journal entries, and prepare expense analysis reports.
Track expense activities, record accruals and prepaid expenses, and ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations in all AR, AP, and expense processes.
