We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a knack for numbers. This position plays a critical role in our financial management, including the creation and analysis of financial reports, account reconciliations, and year-end closing tasks. The candidate will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and assist in company-wide projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform account and bank reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
2. Post journal entries for accrued expenses and revenue.
3. Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparation and posting of journal entries, preparation of financial statements, and account reconciliations.
4. Assist with variance analysis or budget review to identify potential areas of concern and ensure budget adherence.
5. Handle credit card reconciliation and resolve any discrepancies.
6. Assist with year-end closing tasks, including preparation for audit activities.
7. Participate in company-wide projects that impact financial reporting and assist in other finance-related tasks.
8. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate payment and receipt of funds.
9. Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
10. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the Engineering industry.
3. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and experience with account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and journal entries.
4. Proficiency in accounting software and experience with financial systems.
5. Excellent analytical skills with strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
8. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, to establish and achieve organizational goals.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.
10. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
