What you'll do:
The Accounting Program Manager is a key member of our global accounting team with a focus on business process optimization and integration-related activities. The Accounting Program Manager will work closely with the accounting, finance, operations, leadership, and technology teams to understand the day-to-day operations as well as the direction in which the company and business functions are moving to identify and lead transformative projects and initiatives.
The Accounting Program Manager can clearly articulate, communicate, and outline best practices, and identify gaps and areas of improvement using roadmaps, timelines, and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, combined with experience in leading complex process improvement & integration projects across various business systems and platforms. They understand industry best practices and can understand the business’s needs from a holistic view and create projects that can be executed and implemented per the vision and strategy of the Company.
The day-to-day:- Lead end-to-end project management for accounting process improvement and integration projects, from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and adherence to budget constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including accounting, IT, finance, and operations to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocation schedules to effectively coordinate project activities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and ensure smooth project execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate communication and foster collaboration among project team members, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities are defined and understood.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track and within scope.
- Coordinate testing, training, and implementation activities, ensuring seamless integration of accounting systems with other business applications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, streamline workflows, and optimize system performance.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, project plans, issue logs, and post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and facilitate knowledge transfer. Control project requirements, scope, and change management issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in similar roles.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing project budgets and resources effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Jira etc.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Visio.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and business needs.
- Able to prioritize competing demands and continuously meet deadlines.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
- Interested and experienced in understanding processes and proposing continuous improvement solutions.
- Experience in ERP Systems such as Oracle, SAP or the like.
