About the Job
The Accountant will assist the CFO in the planning and execution of the accounting operations of the local subsidiary of a national firm.
Responsibilities:- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions, month-end close, and budget preparation.
- Responsible for the safeguard of corporate assets. Includes management of treasury operations and oversight of risk / liability insurance.
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
- Works with operations managers and foreman to ensure financial compliance and transaction capture across the company.
- Responsible for preparing month-end financial reports and analysis for senior leaders. Includes the responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of the results presented.
- Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. Responsible for local tax and other regulatory filings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in accounting software.
- Preferred software experience includes Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, and QuickBooks Enterprise.
- Experience with reporting tools such Microsoft Power BI, IBM Cognos Analytics, or Tableau is a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word is required.
- Ability to perform financial analysis and prepare reports for senior management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.
- Four years or more of related experience required. Experience with multi-company accounting preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
