Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Office Manager to lead our accounting team and oversee human resources operations. This role is vital for managing cash flow, financial reporting, and contributing to a supportive company culture. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership and organizational skills.
What You’ll Do
Accounting and Administration
- Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, and daily cash flow updates.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely task completion.
- Handle escalated customer service issues, collections, and feedback resolution.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure month-end account accuracy.
- Prepare inventory adjustments and monthly progress billing.
- Calculate and remit monthly sales taxes, along with quarterly estimated federal/state taxes.
- Record general journal entries and maintain precise financial records.
- Compile and present monthly balance sheets and P&L reports to leadership.
- Collaborate with department heads to create budgets and provide progress updates.
- Oversee building maintenance, office supply management, and event planning.
Payroll and Human Resources
- Manage new hire onboarding and maintain detailed employee records.
- Serve as benefits coordinator, liaising with vendors and leadership to administer packages.
- Ensure HR compliance, including policies, benefit updates, and incident reporting.
- Maintain HR software and implement employee feedback initiatives.
- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll.
Requirements
What You Bring
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Office Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong financial expertise with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Excellent multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer service orientation with exceptional communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
- HR management experience or a strong HR background is preferred.
- Ability to pass a DCJS background review.
